Description
The Purple Torch or Bartlettina sordida is a flowering plant which is endemic to cloud forest habitats in Mexico. The large clusters of scented flowers appear in spring, mauve to lilac in color. The clusters have a bursting fireworks appearance.
This one was taken in the glasshouse at Wisley Gardens. Wisley Gardens situated in Surrey England is part of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and home to some of the largest plant collections anywhere in the world.
