The Vulcan was operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1956 until 1984.
The last airworthy example of the Avro Vulcan jet-powered delta-winged strategic nuclear bomber aircraft was the Avro Vulcan XH558 The Spirit Of Great Britain1. It was restored to flying condition by the Vulcan to the Sky Trust, and the first post-restoration flight took place on 18 October 2007. After performing displays every season from 2008 until 2015, XH558 last flew on 28th October 2015
